Sometimes It's Hard to Separate Myth from Truth

  1. LOVE it! Well done. Here's my take...

Why do we have to have a dog park on an already crazy, busy and burdened Beaverdam Road? Not to mention, being slammed up against a major water source supplying a spectacular asset to the City of Asheville, our surrounding neighbors as well as tourists = Beaver Lake.

I prefer not to remain anonymous, but because of the "politically correctness" and "neighbor friendly" outlook of Asheville, must. When I run for Mayor in my years of retirement as a Liberatarian/Republican, that may change:)

Very sad that the sense of entitlement and social programs make it such that property owners no longer have rights.

I am not an activist because I/we work hard to support ourself/survive and have little time to be so; however, the owners of real estate in Beaverdam, Wild Cherry and Lakeview Park (who OWN Beaver Lake and pay for every bit of it's maintenance with NO HELP from the City) will be (Beaverdam and Wild Cherry/Gibson/Woodbury/Meadowview) or potentially be (Lakeview Park) negatively impacted by this dog park.

Home or land owners have rights too. I LOVE dogs and cats, but as a responsible pet owner, I choose not to harm others.

Is no one thinking outside the box? Are our City representatives not thinking or caring for others, those that actually pay the City's bills? Chris Pelly, let's put it in Haw Creek on the corner or your property.

If our lake is impacted by algae blossoms due to excessive animal urine we will no longer have a lake. We will have a park. Mind you that would save all of those in Lakeview Park money; however, that Lake is an invaluable asset to all of us in Asheville, regardless of political affiliation or dog ownership (actually dog owners like to walk their dog's their). Wait an idea, let's continue to have that as their park at the expense of Lakeview Park! Just pick up the pooh:)
